The Biz of Fashion :: Why Skinny Models "Rule" the Runway

It's funny that the general populace haven't figured out that the business of fashion is just that, a business.

Most items that you see on the runway are just samples and/or concepts of the designer's ideas. Moreover, material is expensive and it's far more economical to design a sample for a size 0 than a size 14.

Usually, when you see a designer that uses fuller-sized women, it's because their material is of a lesser grade than that of a couture designer or a fashion house.

So next time you see a skinny model, remember that she is a "living mannequin" for a designer's concept and not the perception of the real world.

Mr. Jones, Inc would like to announce to its roster, fitness model, Kalon Goins. Kalon is a seasoned model on the runway and looking to gain exposure as a fitness, swimwear and underwear star in the industry and is available for bookings and is passport ready for travel. Kalon also speaks Japanese and will do well in the Osaka, Japan market. We look forward to promoting Kalon on achieving his full potential.

Model of the Month :: Ki-Yuki Emmanuel

Ki-Yuki Emmanuel is a long time martial artist with Kuroshi-Do Systems and in a few weeks will become a Shodan (1st degree black belt). Additionally, he's also a break-dancer and krumper and participated in contests around the country. Ki-Yuki is looking to become a fitness model, as well as an actor and Mr. Jones, Inc. is looking forward to promoting him to the industry and the world.

* Compensation: $20 travel expense given to model for every designer selected ($20 for 1 designer, $40 for 2, and so on) and one (1) ticket given to each model for sale and keep the money or give away.
* Additional Optional Compensation: Free 3 look photo session in Midtown Manhattan (must come camera ready)
* Note: As Executive Producer, I wasn’t privy to the compensation of the last show. However, I am making all decisions for this event, so if you attend casting and selected, you will receive compensation as stated above.
